Outside the village of Limenaria, in southern Thassos is the beach  Metalia. A sandy beach, right next to the old iron treatment facilities, with the blast furnaces are visible from the beach. It is organized into umbrellas and chairs and is ideal for families with children because the sea is shallow. Note that the entire landscape is quirky but very picturesque.
