They are traditionally called the Heptanese, i.e. "the Seven Islands" (Greek: Ἑπτάνησα, Heptanēsa, or Ἑπτάνησος, Heptanēsos; Italian: Eptaneso), but the group includes many smaller islands as well as the seven principal ones.

Lefkada, or Leucas or Leucadia (Greek: Λευκάδα, [lefˈkaða]; Ancient Greek, is a Greek island in the Ionian Sea on the west coast of Greece, connected to the mainland by a long causeway and floating bridge.

Paxi & Antipaxi

Paxi or Paxoi (Greek: Παξοί, pronounced /pækˈsiː/ in English and [pɐkˈsi] in Greek) is the name given to the smallest group of the Ionian Islands (the Heptanese). In Greek it is a plural form and it refers to a complex of islands, the largest of which arePaxos and Antipaxos (a smaller nearby island famous for its wine, and two of the finest sandy beaches in the Ionian Sea).

Othonoi (Greek: Οθωνοί, Italian: Fanò) is an island and a former community of theIonian Islands, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Corfu, of which it is a municipal unit. It is located northwest of Corfu.
